Going Going Back Back to Cali Cali!!!!!

Well, I wasn't really going back since this was my first trip to the beautiful land of California but I wouldn't hesitate to go back if I could. I am a traveler, I like to take myself out of my every day environment and explore new surroundings and cultures and I hadn't taken a getaway in a while, 6 months to be exact, so I decided to take a 4 day trip to L.A. My first trip to the west coast!!! I actually wish I had stayed longer cause 4 days wasn't enough but that always gives me an excuse to go back..... Right??? I was supa duppa excited so right after my friend picked me up from the airport, we went straight to Santa Monica beach where I was able to watch a swimsuit photo shoot. Like, that only happens in LA!!! After a couple hours of strolling around, we headed to my hotel. I stayed at the Omni Hotel in downtown LA right by the staple center and the Fashion Institute of Design and it was gorg!!!!! Fresh flowers in the lobby, comfortable modern rooms, beautiful sexy lounge, a spa, two restaurants and super friendly staff.  During my entire trip, I visited the one and only Hollywood boulevard, did some "window" shopping on famous Rodeo Drive, learned about fashion at FIDM exhibits, saw amazing views at Griffith observatory, tapped into my artistic side at the LA County Museum of Art, hung out with celebrities at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, imagined myself  on the red carpet  at the Dolby Theatre and took gorg pics next to the Hollywood Sign. And if that wasn't amazing enough, the lord blessed me with tickets to the tapping of Two and a Half Man where I had the most remarkable, incredible, startling moment of my trip: a 3 second convo with Ashton Kutcher!!!!! I wanted to jump and touch the sky!!!!! L.A has definitely been added to my favorite vacay destination and I can't wait to go back to Cali Cali.

A Beautiful Spring Sunday

This winter has been super harsh on us in the DC area. After all the snow storms we had, the triple layers and the high electric bills, it was nice to see some warm temperatures this weekend. I usually hibernate during the cold season but once I see temperatures in the 70's, I get into my "YOLO" attitude. So my friends and I decided to head to Beacon Hotel for Sunday brunch. For $40 you can have unlimited mimosas/blood marys and eat your life away. The buffet has a great selection of food. they have the healthy side and the naughty side. I am a naughty girl when it comes to food so I had some fried chicken, waffle, pasta, omelet, croissants, bacon, sausage, salmon....... The waffle and the omelets stations were my favorites. We literally stayed there for 4 hrs., talking, drinking, eating, drinking, drinking, drinking..... yes!!! we had a lot of mimosas. Just when we were about to head home, we decided to check out the day party at Barcode, after all it was 80 degrees, great excuse!!!  We got there just before they started charging for the $20 cover We sat outside and ordered some hookah and drinks. My French Martini was strong and the Bellini was very good. The DJ did his thing playing mostly hip hop and the ambiance was great. Overall, it was a great Sunday but I had to pay for it at work on Monday.
